Cycling Project

In 2009, the St. John's Municipal Council adopted a new cycling plan which had been in development since 2007. In 2012 Phase I of the Cycling Master Plan  was implemented. The Cycling Master Plan is a comprehensive strategy to address cycling needs and build on the City's already strong active transportation foundation. It is envisioned that a city-wide cycling network will provide a safe and convenient system of transportation for recreation and utilitarian purposesk, including opportunities for family outings, exercise, commuting to work and personal needs. It is anticipated to take two decades to phase in the full master plan, during which time the master plan document will serve as the guide.
