Affordable Housing Forum Focuses on Landlords for 2016

Wednesday, November 09, 2016 - 9:15 AM

On Tuesday, Nov. 22, the City of St. John’s will host its sixth annual Affordable Housing Forum. This year’s theme is ‘Supporting Successful Tenancies – Where Do You Fit?’ The focus is on landlords and service providers that work directly with landlords and tenants.

Date: Tuesday, November 22
Registration/Coffee: 8:30 a.m.
Forum: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Foran Greene Room, 4th Floor, City Hall

The event is hosted in partnership with the City’s Rental Team. Special guest speaker is Wally Czech of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness. The agenda includes updates on End Homelessness St. John’s initiatives and ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives set out in the City’s Affordable Housing Business Plan.

A key strategy of the Affordable Housing Business Plan is to cultivate a base of landlords willing to rent to individuals seeking affordable housing, including those who may require supports.

The day will include networking opportunities, prizes and lunch. Admission is free, but space is limited and registration is required. Individuals with an interest in the event should call 570-2096 or email affordablehousingevents@stjohns.ca.
