ALT Hotel Construction: Traffic and Parking Restrictions

Construction continues on the new ALT Hotel at the corner of Water Street and Job’s Cove in downtown St. John’s. Residents and businesses are advised that some traffic and parking restrictions will be in place until March 1, 2017, see details on the City’s website.

To facilitate the construction, parking meters will be bagged on Harbour Drive and Water Street to allow space for large modules that will be transported in to the downtown starting this week.

Modules will be lifted on to the construction site from three locations: Water Street, Job's Cove and Harbour Drive. Parking meters on Harbour Drive will remain bagged for the duration of the project to create a holding area for the modules. Parking meters on Water Street will be bagged intermittently, while some modules are lifted in place. 

Due to the nature of the project, weather and wind will determine the speed at which it is completed.
