Animal Control Officers, Humane Services, City of St.John's

The week of April 12-18 is Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week, and the City of St. John's Humane Services is hosting a celebration for the staff that provides this important community service on Monday, April 13.

“The brave and hard-working animal control officers who work for our City truly deserve special recognition and thanks. Our officers are devoted and caring people, whose jobs often entail dealing with hazardous environments and animals,” said Deputy Mayor Ron Ellsworth. “We are grateful to have such amazing staff on our team and I invite residents to our Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week celebration on Monday.”

The special celebration will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at the Humane Services Animal Shelter, 81 Higgins Line. The general public is invited to come out and meet our local heroes (Animal Control Officers) and also to visit some of the cute and loveable animals that are available for adoption.
