Annual Tourism Awards Presented at City Hall

2016 Tourism Award Winners

Today, City Council and staff welcomed leaders and entrepreneurs from throughout the city to the Annual Tourism Awards presentation at City Hall, recognizing outstanding contributions to the tourism sector. Each year the city presents the awards to recognize individuals, groups and organizations that make substantial contributions to the industry, providing a unique and quality experience for guests visiting St. John’s.

Congratulations to the following award winners:

  • Family members representing the late Dave Snow accepted the Legend Award on his behalf for outstanding enhancements to the tourism industry.
  • Event of the Year has been awarded to Royal Canadian Legion Provincial Command in recognition of their Memorial Day Ceremony.
  • The Signal Award, for outstanding contribution to the cruise industry goes to Gordon Dalton, a volunteer with the City of St. John's Ambassador Program.
  • Mike Edmunds of McCarthy’s Party received the Victoria Wagon Award.
  • The Discovery Award for innovative tourism-related products was presented to So-Full Food Tours.
  • The Sport Tourism Award was presented to St. John’s Soccer Club for hosting the Senior Nationals - the Jubilee Trophy for female and the Challenge Cup Trophy for male.
