Budget 2017 Engagement Process Launched

Tuesday, July 05, 2016 - 7:45 AM

The City of St. John’s has launched its Budget 2017 engagement process as outlined in the media release of March 2016 related to our Operating Budget Guidelines.

The online engagement portal is the first phase of the engagement process and allows residents and stakeholders to learn more about the City’s revenues and expenditures, read about city programs and services as well as enter into a discussion about what they would like to see addressed in Budget 2017.

The online engagement forum will be open until late September. Additionally, the City will be connecting with its Advisory Committees, Experts Panels and Working Groups who will provide perspectives on arts and culture, seniors, youth and heritage to name a few.

Early in the fall the City will announce dates for a series of ward-based engagement sessions at which Budget 2017 will be one of the topics discussed. A “What We Heard” document will be released in the fall to close the loop on the budget engagement process.

All dates and details for Budget 2017 will be posted to engagestjohns.ca. Residents are encouraged to sign up to actively participate in the discussion.
