Building Healthy Communities Volunteer Awards Presented

Today, the Building Healthy Communities Volunteer Awards were presented to Hannah Murphy and Charlie Murphy.

“Congratulations to Hannah and Charlie who have demonstrated a commitment to making the City of St. John’s a better place to live,” said Mayor Danny Breen. “I thank you both for your hard work, passion, and activism - you are making a real difference in the community.”

The Building Healthy Communities Volunteer Award recognizes residents who have volunteered their time to improve the quality of life and well-being of citizens as well as further the objectives of our Healthy City Strategy.

“Thank you, Charlie, Hannah, and the hundreds of volunteers throughout St. John’s who are dedicated to helping others,” said Councillor Jamie Korab, lead for Community Services. “As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we recognize that volunteers make a significant impact on the quality of life for residents in St. John’s. The City relies on many volunteer roles including those who serve on committees, working groups, and participate in our programming.”

The City of St. John’s values the significant contribution that volunteers play in making our community a better place to live, work and play.
