Call for Applications: Kenmount Terrace Community Park Steering Committee

As announced in Budget 2015, planning for a new park in the Kenmount Terrace area is now underway and the City is calling for applications from interested persons to serve on a Steering Committee for this exciting new project.
 
The Steering Committee, comprised of City staff, Council, and members of the public, will:

  • provide guidance to the consultant in preparation of the Kenmount Terrace Community Park concept plan;
  • guide and support the public engagement process throughout the development of the plan;
  • present the plan to Council for approval. 

Four to six community representatives will be selected from the applications received.  Selected representatives will include; mix of various ages (youth, older adults, families), residents of Kenmount Terrace and Thorburn Road area, and members of the public with an interest or expertise in parks and open spaces, as well as recreation.
 
Selected representatives will provide a conduit to the community and will be tasked to bring information about the project to their own networks and to relay back to the project team. This requires attendance at all public information sessions as well as other public engagement activities and participation in meetings of the full Steering Committee.
