Canada Day and Memorial Day Holiday City Schedule

Due to the Canada Day and Memorial Day holiday on Wednesday, July 1, most City offices and facilities, including the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility, will be closed.
 
Please note the following:

  • The Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation at 10 Maple View Place will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Parking meter regulations will not be enforced.
  • Garbage and recycling will not be picked up on Wednesday, July 1. For this week only, collectionwill be a day later than usual for areas normally collected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please see details below:
    • Thursday July 2 - Area 3A Garbage, Area 3B Garbage and Recycling collected.
    • Friday July 3 - Area 4A Garbage, Area 4B Garbage and Recycling collected.
    • Saturday July 4 - Area 5A Garbage, Area 5B Garbage and Recycling collected.

Memorial Day Parade and Service
The Royal Canadian Legion Newfoundland and Labrador Memorial Day Parade will begin at the Sergeants’ Memorial on Queens Road at 9:50 a.m. The Memorial Day ceremony takes places at 10:45 a.m. at the National War Memorial. For more information about the ceremony please contact Provincial Command by calling 753-6920.
