Christmas and New Year Holiday City Schedule

Due to the upcoming holidays all City offices and facilities will be closed;
- Noon on Thursday, Dec. 24 reopening Tuesday, Dec. 29
- Noon on Thursday, Dec. 31 to Friday, Jan. 1
Please note the following exceptions:
- The Access Call Centre is always available to residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week; however front counter service is closed during times noted above
- Parking Meters will not be enforced on from noon Thursday, Dec. 24 to Friday Dec. 25 and from noon Thursday, Dec 31. to Friday, Jan 1. Parking Meters will be enforced on Monday, Dec. 28 as it is not a Shops Closing Holiday
- The Robin Hood Bay Regional Waste Management Facility is open on Monday, Dec. 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for both residential and commercial users
- The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 24 to Tuesday, Jan. 5
- Humane Services Animal Care and Adoption Centre will be open Sunday, Dec. 27, 3 to 5 p.m.
Recreation Facilities:
- The H.G.R. Mews Community Centre and Wedgewood Park Recreation Centre:
- Closed noon on Thursday, Dec. 24 - 26
- Open Dec. 27 - 30
- Closed noon on Thursday, Dec. 31 - Friday, Jan.1
- Open Saturday, Jan. 2
- The Kilbride Lions Community Centre and Shea Heights Community Centre will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 23 to Sunday, Jan. 3 (with exception of Post Office and Board run events)
- Southlands Community Centre will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24 to Sunday, Jan. 3
The waste collection schedule is amended during the holidays. Waste must be at the curb by 8 a.m. on collection day. Changes during the holidays affect only Area 5 (Friday pick up):

Christmas Tree drop off of real, undecorated trees takes place:
- Quidi Vidi Lake, large gravel parking lot off The Boulevard - Sunday, Dec. 27 to Saturday, Jan. 9
- Residential Drop-Off, Robin Hood Bay, 340 East White Hills Road - Tuesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., from Dec. 29 to Jan. 9 (closes at noon Dec.31)
The next City Council meeting will take place 4:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 4.
