City Hall Planned Power Outage: Impact on Services

On Friday, August 28 a planned power outage at City Hall will impact City services until Sunday, August 30. The power outage is required for safety reasons to facilitate installation of a new power supply at City Hall.

Impacts to services will begin 5 p.m. on Friday until 5 p.m. on Sunday and include:

  • The City Hall parking garage will be closed for safety reasons.
  • The City website and Map Centre will not be available.
  • e-Updates (emails) sent to subscribers of City corporate communications posted on the website will not be sent while the website is offline. 
  • Electronic (debit and credit card) payments will not be accepted at City facilities for the duration of the outage, including Access St. John’s phone payments.
  • Recreation facilities and the Railway Coastal Museum will be open during regular hours and will be accepting cash payments.

During this planned power outage at City Hall residents can contact Access St. John’s by calling 311 or 754-CITY (2489) for up to date information, questions or concerns.

The following services will not be impacted:

  • The city’s social media feeds will continue to be available.
  • The city’s RECconnect website will be available via external link.
  • The City’s career opportunity site Njoyn will be available via external link.
