From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 25 the City of St. John’s invites residents to attend a special celebration at Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility to recognize the 5th anniversary of curbside recycling.

Numerous heavy equipment vehicles will be on display by the City of St. John’s, City of Mount Pearl, Newfound Disposal, and NLL Recycling.  This family fun event will include a cake cutting at noon, face painting, photo booth, displays and much more!

In total, the City of St. John's and other municipalities of the region have recycled over 30,000 tonnes, which is enough material to cover the ice surface at Mile One Stadium to the roof, three times.

For additional information about recycling residents are encouraged to visit curbitstjohns.ca and sign up for reminders about garbage and recycling collection.  Reminders can be set up via telephone, text, email or twitter direct message.  Residents can also download the ‘St. John’s Waste and Recycling App’.
