City of St.John's Recognizing Municipal Awareness Day

Monday, April 27, 2015 - 2:45 PM

On Wednesday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the City of St.John’s will recognize Municipal Awareness Day with an EXPO at the Village Mall.

Members of the public are invited to come and meet City of St.John’s staff and learn more about the many interesting and effective programs the City offers. Many displays will be interactive, offering residents an opportunity to see how things work up close, or to sign up for City services, including the new Waste app, park cards and GoBus transit cards.

The Mayor’s chair will be on display for residents who might like to try out the seat themselves!

Information will be available on a variety of topics, from recycling and traffic light technology to recreation and fire prevention. City vehicles will be on display outside the Mall, including a pumper truck and a sidewalk plow, sure to be popular with small children.
Presentations are scheduled every hour on the hour - beginning at 11 a.m. - on a variety of topics, from animal care to fire safety.

There is no cost to attend the EXPO. There will be many prizes and giveaways for residents, including a grand prize one-week vacation from Lakeside at Thorburn Resort, valued at $1,500.
