Council Chambers to Reopen to Public with Limited Capacity

Wednesday, November 17, 2021 - 11:15 AM

Effective Monday, November 22, 2021, the public gallery at St. John’s City Council will reopen with limited capacity. As attendance at municipal meetings is considered part of a public service, the City will not be requiring the NL Vax Pass to attend. However, individuals in the gallery must be socially distanced or sitting in cohorts and masks or face shields must be worn at all times.

Nine spaces have been identified for public seating, including eight spaces in the gallery and one accessible space on the main floor. Seating capacity will be limited to 9 to16 individuals, depending on cohorts.

Council meets at 3 p.m. on Mondays and 9:30 a.m. every second Wednesday for Committee of the Whole. Meetings will continue to be webcast live at www.stjohns.ca/councilmeetings.
