Council Extends Condolences on the Passing of Christopher Pratt

It is with deep sadness that St. John’s City Council acknowledge the death of Christopher Pratt, Canadian painter and artist, and recipient of both the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Order of Canada.

Born in St. John’s, the landscapes and waterways presented in his iconic works reflect his beloved home province. Amongst his many accomplishments, Mr. Pratt designed the provincial flag, which was adopted in 1980.

Council extends its deepest sympathies to Mr. Pratt’s family, friends and colleagues. His contributions are lasting, and his loss will be felt by many across the country, but especially here in his hometown.
