Correction (April 5, 2022): The Public Service Announcement below, issued on March 25 contains an error. The plans for the Pedestrian Mall were not scheduled to be presented during April 4 meeting of Council, as the PSA indicated. The plans were presented to the Committee of the Whole as an Information Note and will not be debated further by Council.

Public Service Announcement issued on March 25, 2022:

An information note regarding the 2022 Downtown Pedestrian Mall event was presented to City Council during a Committee of the Whole meeting on March 23.

The Downtown Pedestrian Mall is proposed to open from Thursday, June 30 to Monday, Sept. 5.

The proposed event footprint and road closure area is on Water Street (Adelaide Street to Prescott Street) and George Street (Adelaide Street to Water Street). Based on feedback collected during the event and engagement process last year, Duckworth Street is not included in the road closures.

The plans for 2022 Downtown Pedestrian Mall will be presented during an upcoming City Council meeting on Monday, April 4. Details regarding entertainment during the event will be released at a later date.
