Downtown Street Cleaning Begins

Street cleaning occurs downtown from Tuesday, April 22 to Friday, September 26, 2014 and takes place in the early morning between midnight and 7 a.m.
Vehicles must be removed from the streets (either one side or both) which are scheduled for cleaning. Vehicles not removed between midnight and 7 a.m. on scheduled street cleaning days will be ticketed.
To learn the days specific streets will be cleaned:
1. Searchable street listing on our websiteGo to www.stjohns.ca, under Quick Links, choose Street Cleaning.
Put in a street and learn all the dates that street is scheduled for cleaning.
On the same page, search by date and learn all the streets being cleaned so you know where not to park on that date.

2. Subscribe to the street cleaning e-update
Receive a daily e-mail notifying of the streets scheduled for cleaning that night.
Go to www.stjohns.ca, click Online Services, choose St. John’s e-Updates, enter your e-mail address and choose Street Cleaning (Downtown).
3. Don’t use a computer or a mobile device?Call Access St. John’s at 311 or (709) 754-CITY (2489) to:
- Learn the dates when specific streets are scheduled for cleaning
- Request a copy of the booklet listing all downtown streets and scheduled dates for cleaning
What residents can do to help:
- Remove vehicle(s) from the street during the scheduled times.
- Do not re-park vehicle(s) on your street even if the street sweeping machine has been by as it may make several passes on the street.
- Arrange with a neighbour or friend to move your car if you will be out of town on the dates your street is scheduled for cleaning.
