Interactive Voice Response System for GoBus Customers

Wednesday, December 03, 2014 - 1:30 PM

The City of St. John’s is introducing an automated telephone tool for GoBus customers to book, review, confirm or cancel their trips – the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.

“The IVR system is not replacing dispatchers, but is another option for GoBus customers,” said Deputy Mayor Ron Ellsworth.  “In addition to its primary function which is to book, cancel or review trips, the IVR system will also allow customers to receive automatic reminder calls the night before or 90 minutes in advance of their ride.”

To start using the new telephone system, GoBus users will need to obtain their customer identification number by calling the Accessible Transit Co-ordinator or the GoBus dispatcher, and must also provide a list of their most frequently visited addresses to the Accessible Transit Coordinator.
