Introducing, the Go Card!

The City of St. John’s is pleased to announce that, beginning October 15, users of GoBus will now have access to smart cards that offer discounts for frequent users.
 
“Fare parity with Metrobus is an important principle for City Council,” said Deputy Mayor Ron Ellsworth. “We appreciate that frequent users of GoBus should be able to avail of the same discounts that riders of Metrobus can access, and we are pleased to introduce our new Go-Card.”
 
Go-Card offers riders a fare discount when they purchase and preload a card. Users can buy a 10-ride pass, a monthly pass or a student, full-semester pass – all at a discount. The cards can be purchased and reloaded at multiple locations throughout the City, or online at www.gobus.info.
 
Go-Cards are now available for purchase, with the program officially beginning on October 15, 2014. Rates are as follows:

As an added benefit, GoBus users who purchase Go-Cards will also be able to collect Air Miles. GoBus riders will earn 1 Air Miles reward mile for every two rides. To begin earning Air Miles reward miles, riders will need to link their Go-Card to their Air Miles collector number by visiting gobus.info. Currently, Air Miles collectors in Newfoundland are able to redeem reward miles for travel and towards purchases at Sobeys, Lawtons Drugs, Foodland, Shell and Rona stores.  Visit www.airmiles.ca/cash  for a complete list of regional and national partners.
