Lane Changes at Kelsey, Goldstone and Team Gushue

The City of St. John’s is changing lane designations at the Kelsey Drive, Goldstone Street and Team Gushue Highway (TGH) interchange, to improve traffic flow in the area.
 
Traffic travelling east on Kelsey Drive toward Goldstone Street:

• right turn lane onto TGH southbound will be prominently marked;
• east of the onramp the curb lane will be for through traffic only; and
• the left-turn only lane will be extended to better accommodate the volume of vehicles entering the northbound TGH onramp. 

Traffic travelling west on Goldstone Street toward Kelsey Drive:

• the curb lane will remain for through traffic only;
• the current left-turn lane to enter the southbound TGH onramp will be removed; and
• the inside lane will be for both through traffic and left-turning onto the southbound TGH onramp. 

The City expects this work will be completed in the coming days, as soon as weather permits, and will take place during the early morning hours from approximately 4 to 7 a.m. to minimize disruptions to traffic flow.
 
The City of St. John’s is committed to building a balanced transportation network to get people and goods where they want to go safely. This change is identified in the Our City, Our Future 2019 Action Plan under the goal improve safety for all users on a well-maintained street network.
