Memorial Day and Canada Day City Schedule

Due to the Canada Day and Memorial Day holiday on Thursday, July 1, all City offices and facilities will be closed.

Please note:

  • Garbage and recycling will not be collected on Thursday. Collection for Area 4 and 5 will take place on Friday, July 2. See schedule below.
  • Robin Hood Bay Waste Management facility is closed to residential and commercial users.
  • Paid Parking regulations will not be enforced, Thursday is a Shops Closing holiday.
  • Public washrooms will be open at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park, Kenmount Park and Quidi Vidi Lake.
  • Splash pads are now open at Bannerman Park and Kenmount Terrace Community Park. Outdoor swimming pools and the splash pad at Bowring Park will open on July 2, see details. 

Memorial Day Ceremony
There will be no Memorial Day Parade this year. The City of St. John’s is sponsoring a NTV broadcast of the Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. The ceremony will also be available virtually at the Royal Canadian Legion Facebook page. For more information contact Provincial Command at 753-1054.
