My City Days: Bringing Your City to You
St. John’s staff and City Councillors are coming to a neighbourhood near you for My City Days, starting on Tuesday, Oct. 18. These drop-in style information and engagement sessions are designed to inform residents about services and policies that affect them, and to provide opportunities for two way engagement in each ward, including Budget 2017.
“These ward based meetings will give residents a chance to ask questions of staff and members of Council about what matters most,” said Mayor Dennis O’Keefe. “If citizens have questions or concerns about services, policies or issues, I strongly encourage them to join us for My City Days. We have events booked in each ward, and our goal is to connect with as many people as possible.”
All meetings are family-friendly and will also feature a children’s area with games and activities for all ages to enjoy. There will be prizes and give-aways for each event, and participants can enter to win the grand prize of a 40” Smart TV family entertainment package.
My City Days events are scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m. (see dates, and locations below). Booths and displays include valuable information on traffic calming, snow clearing and removal, recycling and garbage schedules, recreation opportunities, zoning, taxes and other matters of common public interest.
“As we approach the end of our calendar year we will also be focusing on Budget 2017 and encouraging people to engage with us during these meetings,” said Mayor O’Keefe.
