National Volunteer Week is April 24 to 30. The City of St. John’s is proud to acknowledge the hundreds of volunteers we have working in a variety of roles. Thank you for your commitment and dedication.

On April 18, 2022 City Council along with Provincial Volunteer Week Ambassador, Precious Familusi, Provincial Volunteer Committee Representative Lindsey Hynes and City Volunteer Services staff proclaimed April 24 to 30 as Volunteer Week.

Join us in celebrating the many volunteers in our community during National Volunteer Week. This year’s theme is “Volunteering is Empathy in Action.”

The City has volunteers involved in many areas across the organization from committees, working groups and recreation programs. We value the contributions of our volunteers and the perspectives they bring to the organization.

The City of St. John’s recognizes volunteers through the Building Healthy Communities Volunteer Award which recognizes individuals or groups who make St. John’s a better place to live, learn, work and play through their volunteer work. Award recipients will be recognized at the Applause Awards event in May.
