WEDGEWOOD PARK
Wedgewood Park is located in the northeast section of St. John’s. With mixed density living spaces, walking trails, schools, natural open spaces, recreation facilities, and retail centres, Wedgewood Park has a lot to offer. 

Issued town status in 1978, Wedgewood Park amalgamated with the City of St. John’s on January 1 1992. As the city continued to develop and grow, this lovely community is now bordered by the White Hills, Stavanger Drive, Kent’s Pond, and Windsor Lake areas.

This neighbourhood contains recognized historical, cultural, and social areas. These are inclusive within the boundaries of this profile with respect to their established identities, assets, and residents.

PAUL REYNOLDS COMMUNITY CENTRE
Located at 35 Carrick Drive, this multi-purpose 74,000 square feet aquatic facility offers many amenities including:

  • full-sized gymnasium
  • Paula Kelly Aquatic Centre
  • 25-metre lane swimming pool
  • therapeutic warm water leisure pool with zero depth beach entry
  • two waterslides
  • hydraulic lift and water wheelchairs, 
  • fully accessible family changerooms
  • community gardens,
  • multi-purpose spaces

The Paula Kelly Aquatic Centre was named for Olympic swimmer Paula Kelly who was born and raised in Wedgewood Park. Wedgewood Park pool is where Kelly first learned to swim before becoming the only person from this province to be named to Canada’s Olympic swimming team.
