Starting on Wednesday, July 3 and continuing for approximately two days, flushing of the Petty Harbour Long Pond water transmission main will occur overnight, between 12:30 and 6:30 a.m.

The reason for doing this work at night is to reduce the inconvenience to residents. There is no concern for the quality of the City’s water.

Discoloration or fluctuations in water pressure can occur during maintenance due to the intensity of the water flushing through the system. If discoloration should occur, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear.

Further information about water main and hydrant flushing is available on the city’s website.

Should discolored water persist during the day, please contact Access St. John’s.

Between May and October of each year the city conducts a water main flushing program throughout the City.
