Parking Meter Upgrade

Friday, January 09, 2015 - 11:45 AM

From January 10 – 14, the City of St. John’s parking meters will undergo a hardware upgrade.

The provider, Mackay Meters, will work with City staff to perform the upgrade; the work is expected to take approximately four days.

Meters will be bagged during the process in order to prevent snow, ice and moisture from collecting inside the unit. Yellow bags will be placed on the meters and will be taped with a green “X” to indicate that parking is permitted. Parking will be free in marked, bagged spaces during the upgrade; if the meter you are occupying is upgraded and returned while you are in the space, you will not be ticketed.

Daily updates will be provided via social media as to what areas are affected by the meter maintenance. Individuals with questions can contact Access St. John’s at 311 or 754-CITY (2489).

The City of St. John’s would like to thank residents and business for their cooperation and understanding.
