Pedestrian Mall Update

The planning process for the 2021 Pedestrian Mall is currently underway. Feedback from downtown business owners is encouraged at this time, as staff work though the details of the proposal for 2021.

Last year, the Pedestrian Mall Pilot Project was met with overall success and public support. During fall of 2020 the city conducted a public engagement process that included feedback from business owners, residents, property owners and members of the City’s Inclusion Advisory Committee. The City’s Special Events staff used this feedback to prepare the proposed plan for 2021. The details of the plan were shared with business owners on Feb. 25, 2021.

During the week of March 22, City Council will review the proposed plan for 2021 and a decision will be made on next steps. Agendas are posted online prior to the meeting.

After City Council approve the plan, details will be shared on the City’s website.
