The City of St. John’s is offering a number of exciting programs for all ages and abilities. Registration is still open and spaces are available in these popular programs below.

Beginner Yoga
Designed for new students of all fitness levels to learn a solid foundation of Yoga practice.
Mondays 6:15-7:30 p.m. register here
Thursdays 10:45 a.m. to noon register here

Relaxation Yoga 
Relaxation Yoga is beginner friendly and incorporates mindfulness throughout the class. Poses are done slowly to illicit the relaxation response and increase body-mind awareness. Register here.
 
Mixed Level Yoga 
Beginners and intermediates together practice yoga fundamentals to increase strength, flexibility and endurance. Register here.
 
Core Balance 
Core Balance is designed to strengthen and develop the muscle groups of the core and lower back. Utilizing body weights and light hand weights, this class provides a well-rounded workout for participants of all levels. Core Balance concludes with a ten-minute stretch and relaxation segment. Body Pump
A total conditioning class designed to challenge each participant’s major muscles groups using effective body weight exercises. Participants at all fitness levels are welcome.

Modern Sequence Ballroom
Modern ballroom dances such as the Foxtrot, the Waltz, the Rumba, the Quickstep and others as time permits, each with a pattern set to 16 bars of music.

Sit & Knit - Virtual
Sit & Knit is a knitting circle open to everyone from beginner to expert and provides an opportunity to learn from each other and socialize while knitting your own project.
Pre-register for the 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 session by emailing recreation@stjohns.ca by the end of the day Tuesday, April 13. Once you email to pre-register a link to join will be sent to you.

Rug Hooking
We still have space in our Spring Rug Hooking Classes. The first course begins April 12 (Finishing Techniques) with second course starting May 3 (Poke a Mat With Hook & Poke a Mat Without Hook)
