Due to the Remembrance Day holiday on Saturday, Nov. 11, City offices will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday, Nov. 13. Exceptions include:

Parking meter regulations will be enforced on Monday, Nov. 13.

All recreation facilities will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Paul Reynolds Community Centre and H.G.R Mews Community Centre will be open on Monday, Nov. 13 for pool and fitness programs only. Program cancellations for Monday are listed on the City website.

The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 11. On Monday Nov. 13 the Waste Management Facility is open to commercial users only.

There is no waste collection on Monday, Nov. 13. Garbage and recycling collection in all areas occurs the day after regular pick up day – including a Saturday pick up for area 5:

  • Monday, Nov. 13: no waste collection
  • Tuesday, Nov. 14: garbage areas 1A/B, recycling area 1B
  • Wednesday, Nov. 15: garbage areas 2A/B, recycling area 2B
  • Thursday, Nov. 16: garbage areas 3A/B, recycling area 3B
  • Friday, Nov. 17: garbage areas 4A/B, recycling area 4B
  • Saturday, Nov. 18: garbage area 5A/B, recycling area 5B

The City of St. John’s Council meeting, regularly scheduled for Monday, Nov. 13, will take place 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Remembrance Day Ceremony – Saturday Nov. 11
The Royal Canadian Legion Newfoundland and Labrador Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony will take place beginning at the Sergeants’ Memorial, Queen’s Road at 10:10 a.m. The parade will arrive at the National War Memorial at approximately 10:45 a.m. For more information about the ceremony please contact Provincial Command 753-1054.
