The City has re-opened the Residential Re-Leaf program, where St. John's residents can apply for a $200 tree voucher towards the purchase of a tree to plant on their property.

Applications are being accepted via email at pwadmin@stjohns.ca or in person at Access St. John’s Centre on the first floor of city hall during business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon to Fri). There are 120 vouchers available.

Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. on Fri. June 24, 2022. Eligible applications will be entered into a draw. Successful applicants will receive their voucher by mail in early July.

The Residential Re-Leaf program aims to expand St. John’s urban forest by encouraging property owners to plant trees on their property. This initiative continues to help the City achieve its goal of increasing the number and density of trees in the city.

Previous programs in 2016, 2019 and 2021 saw hundreds of trees planted on homeowner properties throughout the city. Further details can be found here.
