Thursday, February 05, 2015 - 1:30 PM

The City of St. John’s celebrates Snow Days with a variety of activities and events to take place Feb. 13-15.

“Living in a winter climate it’s important to get outdoors, be active, and enjoy all that our City has to offer this time of year,” said Councillor Bernard Davis, Chair, Community Services and Housing Standing Committee. “We have fun, free, family friendly activities ongoing at multiple locations throughout the City, and I strongly encourage residents to come out and participate.”

The Snow Days celebration begins on Friday, February 13, with a Spooky Walk in Bowring Park and continues through Saturday, Valentine’s Day, with multiple events including live music at Quidi Vidi Village Plantation, Snow Play for children at Bannerman Park and a Sweetheart Skate at the Loop.  On Sunday the City will offer free cross country ski and snowshoe rentals at Pippy Park North Bank Lodge and recognize National Flag Day with a snow painting party for children of all ages.

Snow Days has something for everyone and all activities offered are free of charge.  The complete listing of all Snow Days events can be viewed on the City’s website.
