From Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21, the City of St. John’s will celebrate 127 years of incorporation with St. John’s Days. Free events are scheduled to take place at multiple locations, for all ages and interests.

“St. John’s Days are around the corner, and I encourage residents of the City of St. John’s, and our neighbours in surrounding communities to come out and celebrate our birthday with us,” said Mayor Dennis O’Keefe. “We have free events planned for all ages, including Music at Harbourside, a campfire on Signal Hill, chamber music concert at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (The Kirk), an art workshop at City Hall, craft market at Quidi Vidi Village Plantation, Family Fun at the Railway Coastal Museum, and of course our big event on Sunday is the Grand Re-Opening of Bannerman Park in partnership with the Bannerman Park Foundation.”

The festivities begin on Signal Hill where Mayor Dennis O’Keefe will officially kick off the St. John’s Days celebration on Friday, June 19 at noon.

The Metrobus St. John’s Trolley resumes service with free rides on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, with stops throughout the downtown area.

The popular Music at Harbourside concert series is continuing again this summer, and includes a special performance during St. John’s Days on Saturday June 20 at 2 p.m. at Harbourside Park in downtown St. John’s.

On Sunday, June 21, join Admiral Johns, City of St. John’s Humane Services staff, the RNC Mounted Unit, and many other participants at the Grand Re-Opening of Bannerman Park. We will have musical entertainment, refreshments and Wonderbolt Circus performers. A Decorated Tricycle, Bicycle & Scooter Parade will take place on The Loop at 2:30 p.m. and prizes will be up for grabs.

A complete listing of all St. John’s Days events is available on the City’s website.
