Thanksgiving Day City Schedule

Residents are advised that due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 8 all City offices will be closed. The regularly scheduled Monday City Council meeting will instead be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 4:30 p.m.

Recreation Facilities
On Monday, Oct. 8, all City of St. John’s Recreation Facilities will be closed for the day due to the holiday.

Parking
The City of St. John's will not enforce the Parking Meter Regulations on Monday, Oct. 8 as Thanksgiving Day is an observed holiday under the Provincial Shop Closing Act.

Garbage and Recycling Collection
Garbage and recycling collection is unaffected by the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 8. There will be regular garbage (areas 1A and 1B) and recycling (1B) collection during this time.

Residents are reminded that garbage and recyclables are not permitted to be put out for collection before 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility
The Residential Drop-Off at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be closed on Monday, Oct. 8 as it is regularly closed on Mondays.

The landfill at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is unaffected by the holiday and will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m for commercial users only.

Visitor Information Centre
The City’s Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 8. The Centre is also open over the Thanksgiving weekend, Oct. 6-7 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. This is the final weekend the Visitor Information Centre will be open for the 2012 season.
