Thanksgiving Day City Schedule

Residents are advised that due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 14, City offices are closed. The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 4:30 p.m.

Recreation Facilities
On Monday, Oct.14, all City of St. John's recreation facilities will be closed for the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Parking
The City of St. John's will not enforce the Parking Meter Regulations on Monday, Oct. 14, as the Thanksgiving Day holiday is an observed holiday under the Provincial Shop Closing Act.

Garbage and Recycling Collection
There is no change to the garbage and recycling collection schedule due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday – collection will proceed as normal during the week of October 14. Residents are reminded that garbage and recyclables are not permitted to be put out for collection before 6 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.

Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility
The Residential Drop-Off at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is closed on Monday, Oct. 14, as it is regularly closed on Mondays. The landfill at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be open to commercial haulers on Monday, Oct. 14.

Humane Services
The Humane Services Shelter on 81 Higgins Line will be closed for the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 14.

Visitor Information Centres
The City’s Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street is closed for the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 14.

The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation Visitor Information Centre at 10 Maple View Place is now closed for the season and will re-open in the spring of 2014.

Access St. John's
The Access St. John’s Call Centre is available to residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via telephone at 311 or (709) 754-CITY (2489). However, front counter service will not be available at the Access St. John’s Citizen Service Centre on Monday, Oct. 14 due to City Hall being closed for the holiday.
