On Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. the tree debris drop off sites at Quidi Vidi Lake and Bowring Park will close. These two drop off locations were opened to accommodate the significant amount of tree debris that occurred during Hurricane Larry in September.

The Residential drop-off (RDO) at Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is open Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and accepts residential yard waste of all sizes year-round. The RDO is closed on Sundays and statutory holidays.

Residents are reminded of the biweekly curbside yard waste collection program which is suitable for leaves, twigs and small branches with a maximum diameter of 1 centimeter.

On recycling day, at the curb place an unlimited number of:

  • Paper yard waste bags weighing 23 kg (50 lbs) or less
  • Tied bundles measuring maximum 60 cm by 60 cm by 30 cm (2ft x 2ft x 1ft)

Yard waste objects that are larger than the above is the responsibility of the homeowner. For more information about waste disposal visit the Curb it St. John's website.
