Update on City Services for February 9

Recreation Programs
Recreation facilities and community centres reopen on February 9 at noon.

Please note, in accordance with the special measures ordered by Public Health, the following Recreation programs and services are cancelled for the next two weeks, effective immediately:

  • All programs for children, youth, and families
  • All adult and seniors programs
  • All water and dryland fitness programs
  • Group swimming lessons and public swims
  • All aquatics leadership courses
  • All sport group gymnasium rentals
  • Racquet court rentals 

The following programs will go ahead:

  • After School and Pre-School programs
  • Private swimming lessons and Lane swims at both the H.G.R. Mews Centre and Paul Reynolds Community Centres
  • Indoor walking programs will go ahead with limited numbers and social distancing maintained
  • Non-sport group rentals
  • Sit and Knit will be offered virtually
  • Pippy Park Outdoor Winter Activity Centre will remain open (weather dependent) 

The Loop will remain open, with limited numbers and social distancing maintained.

City Hall
The Access Centre at City Hall will remain open.

Council will meet virtually for the next two weeks. Tune in to the regular Council meeting at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 3 p.m. on Feb. 15 at https://stjohns.ca/councilmeetings.
