Vote by Mail Kits to be Delivered Starting September 8

Thursday, September 07, 2017 - 2:45 PM

The City is again using the Vote by Mail system for the upcoming Municipal Election on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Vote by Mail kits will be inducted into the mail system on Friday, Sept. 8 and you should receive your kit by Friday, Sept. 15.

The City compiles the voter’s list from a variety of sources, including Elections Newfoundland and Labrador data, tax roll information and other sources. While the City makes every attempt to ensure the accuracy of the list, residents are asked to please check the list for any errors. To determine if your name is on the voters’ list, you can:

  • Check the on-line Voter Registration Portal; or
  • Call 311 and talk to one of our Citizen Service Representatives; or
  • Visit our Access St. John’s Service Centre on the 1st floor of City Hall.

Voters can mail the completed kit through Canada Post until September 22, or alternatively you can bring the kit to a drop box located outside the entrance to City Hall, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until 8 p.m. on Election Day, September 26.

After September 22, Vote by Mail kits can be picked up and/or dropped off at City Hall, or at one of the ward based satellite centres on Election Day. Please note that Vote by Mail kits will only be available at the satellite drop-off centres on Election Day.
