Watermains on various streets in the Churchill Square area are scheduled for rehabilitation work in 2022 and 2023.

Work will begin in early September 2022 and finish up in November 2022 and then begin again in Spring 2023. It is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2023.

This project will involve cleaning and structural lining of the existing watermains. It will reduce maintenance issues, improve water service, and extend the life of the existing watermains in this area. Fer-Pal Construction Ltd. is contracted to complete the work for the City of St. John’s.

Businesses and homes on affected streets will continue to receive water through a temporary above ground water piping system installed along the street while work is completed. Residents and business owners will be notified directly by the contractor if their property is included in the project area, prior to start of construction. The City will require access to properties to facilitate connection of the temporary water service and to facilitate watermain rehabilitation work.

Traffic Update

Two-way traffic and pedestrian access will be maintained where possible, but delays are to be expected. Every effort will be made by the contractor to maintain driveway access to properties located within the work site.
