Masterworks 2: a musical filled evening with guests Rafael Hoekman, Jeffrey Rink and the PCNSO. Rafael Hoekman, cello, is known for his spirited and fiery performances and will join guest conductor Jeffrey Rink with the NSO to perform Ra, Ra, Rafael including: Glinka’s A Life for the Tsar Overture, Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1, Borodin’s Symphony No. 2, Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor.
