Excavation Work

Location:
28 Eric Street
Start Date:
Tuesday, November 23, 2021 - 9:30am to 10:30am

A backhoe will be operating at 28 Eric Street on Tuesday, November 23 for approximately one hour, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., to excavate at two locations on site.

In determining a possible source of groundwater seepage noted to occur within the city-owned property at 28 Eric Street, a limited geotechnical investigation will be carried out. The limited geotechnical investigation will include the use of a rubber tire backhoe for approximately one hour duration on site to be completed by excavating two test pit excavations approximately one metre in size and up to three metres deep. Following the examination of the soils, the test pit will be backfilled and the site re-instated to pre-existing conditions.

As part of the Affordable Housing Strategy, City Council approved this parcel of land at 28 Eric Street for redevelopment as affordable home ownership, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. This work is required to establish the subsurface conditions of the property aiding in work design.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
