Road Closure New Gower at Waldegrave/Barters Hill

To facilitate installation of a new overhead pedway system from the Delta Hotel to the Convention Center, the following streets will be closed to all traffic (including emergency vehicles and metrobus) this Sunday April 12th starting at 5:00 am:

• New Gower Street - Both directions between Springdale Street and the Barters Hill/Waldegrave Street intersection
• Barters Hill - Southbound from Casey Street to New Gower Street (no access from Barters Hill or Casey Street to New Gower St)
• Waldegrave Street - Southbound from New Gower Street to George Street West

These closures are expected to last most of the day with completion expected by 5:00 pm.

Eastbound traffic for Mile One should detour via Water Street east to Waldegrave Street northbound to New Gower Street.
Southbound traffic for Mile One should detour via Lemarchant Road to Longs Hill to Queens Road westbound to New Gower Street.

The installation is weather dependent, excessive winds could delay or postpone the closure to another date. If this occurs a further update will be provided.
