Royal Canadian Legion Bi-annual Convention Parade and Wreath Laying

Motorists are advised that the 2016 Royal Canadian Legion Bi-annual Convention Parade and Wreath Laying will take place this Sunday, June 12, 2016, starting at 9:15am and finishing by 11:30 am.  The route closures/lane reductions are as follows:
Parade forming up at 9:30am at the bottom of Temperance/Water Street.
Parade starting at 10:00am.
Ceremony at National War Memorial

Parade leaves National War Memorial
March down Water Street- salute at Courthouse
Continue to march down Water Street to Queen Street
Travel up Queen Street to St. John's Convention Centre

Road Closure
9:15 am – 11:30 am

Temperance Street (to facilitate form up)
Water Street at Hill O'Chips (to facilitate form up)
Cochrane Street
Holloway Street
St. John’s Lane
Queen Street
 
Rolling closures once parade leaves National War Memorial en route to Convention Centre.

Anticipate parade over no later than 11:30am
 
Motorists are advised to find an alternate route. Residents may be temporarily detained while parade participants are passing.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation.
A detour will be in place and flagpersons will be present during the Parade.
