A Discretionary Use Application has been submitted by Northern Americas Satellite Ventures Inc. to the City of St. John’s seeking approval to construct a new satellite earth station antenna at the rear of the building at 541 Kenmount Road.
 
Description
In accordance with the City of St. John’s Siting Protocol for Wireless Facilities, the City of St. John’s hereby notifies property owners in the vicinity of 541 Kenmount Road of the intention to construct an Earth Station.
 

• Earth Station is a ground-based parabolic reflector antenna for use in a satellite communications link.
• The reflector is 5.5 meters in diameter, and the overall height of the structure will not exceed 7.7 meters above the concrete pad on which it is installed, including a lightning rod.
• The antenna is located within a compound that is secured by a chain-link fence, approximately 30 meters wide by 30 meters, with locked access gate.
