Cancelled - Public Hearing - 12 Jensen Camp Road

No submissions were received by the deadline date. Therefore, in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act, the public hearing was cancelled.

The St. John's Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 126, 2014 and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 588, 2014 at its regular meeting held March 31, 2014 and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendment from the Minister of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
 
The effect of the St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 126, 2014, is to allow multi-family housing on properties that do not have frontage along Blackmarsh Road.
 
The effect of the St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 588, 2014, is to allow for multi-family housing in Planning Area 4 – Mundy Pond, where this form of housing is currently exempt.
 
The amendments are in reference to an application submitted to develop multi-family housing, five (5) townhomes, on the property located at 12 Jensen Camp Road. This amendment will not change the fact that all properties in Planning Area 4 will remain governed by the appropriate zone requirements of the St. John’s Development Regulations.

The Public Hearing scheduled for Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 7 p.m. is now cancelled. The Public Hearing will be conducted by an independent Commissioner appointed by Council. Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposed amendments must provide a signed written statement to the Office of the City Clerk by 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014, either by mail: P.O. Written submissions received will become a matter of public record.  If no written objections to the amendments are received by the deadline noted, the public hearing for these amendments may be cancelled by the City in accordance with the provisions of the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
