A Public Hearing will take place regarding an application to rezone land at 130 Aberdeen Avenue, to allow a mixed residential development.
 
Description
The St. John’s Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Amendment Number 2, 2022, and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 3, 2022, on June 13, 2022, and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
 
The effect of the Municipal Plan amendment would be to re-designate 130 Aberdeen Avenue from the Commercial Land Use District to the Residential Land Use District and Open Space Land Use District.
 
The effect of the Development Regulations amendment would be to rezone
130 Aberdeen Avenue from the Commercial Regional (CR) Zone to the Residential 3 (R3) Zone, Apartment 2 (A2) Zone and Open Space (O) Zone.

Time & Date
The Public Hearing is paper-based. Instead of a face-to-face traditional Hearing, the public are invited to write the City with their comments, concerns, or support. All submissions received will be forwarded to the commissioner. After the 30-day period, the commissioner will assemble all comments into a report to Council.

As well, the City is offering a virtual session for those who wish to speak with the commissioner, the applicant, and City staff.
