The St. John's Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 134, 2017, and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 617, 2017, at its regular meeting held February 13, 2017, and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal Affairs in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
 
The effect of the St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 134, 2017, would be to re-designate land located at 198 & 204 Freshwater Road from the Residential Medium Density Land Use District to the Commercial General Land Use District.
 
The effect of the St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 617, 2017, would be to rezone land located at 198 & 204 Freshwater Road from the Residential High Density (R3) Zone to the Commercial Neighbourhood (CN) Zone.
 
The amendments are in reference to an application submitted by Dillon Consulting Limited, on behalf of Shoppers Realty Inc., to allow for the redevelopment of the existing Shoppers Drug Mart which is a longstanding Non-Conforming Use.
