A Public Meeting will take place online regarding a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations, prompted by an application for a Personal Care Home and Adult Day Care Facility in Pleasantville.     
 
Description
The City of St. John’s is considering a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations that would add a Personal Care Home as a Discretionary Use to the Residential Medium Density (R2) Pleasantville Zone, the Residential Medium Density (R2) Zone and the Residential High Density (R3) Zone. A Municipal Plan amendment is not required. This amendment was prompted by an application for a Personal Care Home and Adult Day Care Facility for L’Arche Avalon on Charter Avenue (civic address 119 Churchill Avenue).
 
Along with the amendment, the City is advertising the discretionary use of a Personal Care Home and Adult Day Care Facility. The proposed Personal Care Home will have two buildings that will house up to 8 patrons and 10 personal care attendants and will have a total floor area of 1,753.45 square metres. The Adult Day Care Facility will be inside the Personal Care Home, will be used by up to 20 non-residents, and will operate Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Off-street parking will be provided.
