A Public Meeting will take place online regarding a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations, prompted by an application for an Apartment Building, Micro Units and Office at 135 Cabot Street.
 
Description
The City has received an application from Stella’s Circle for a 6-unit Apartment Building and is considering a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations that will add Apartment Building, Micro Unit and Office to the Residential Downtown (RD) Zone as Discretionary Uses. A Municipal Plan amendment is not required. The proposed Apartment Building will contain 6 Micro Units (dwelling units less than 45m2) and an Office. Micro Units will not require off-street parking.      
 
Along with the amendment, the City is advertising the Discretionary Use of an Apartment Building, 6 Micro Units and an Office. The Apartment Building will have a total floor area of 412m2, with each Micro Unit having a floor area between 29m2 and 33m2. The Office will be located within the Apartment Building, have a floor area of 23m2, and 1 employee who will work approximately 5 hours weekly. The applicant has requested parking relief of 1 parking space.
