December 31, 2021 - In response to recent testing, Environment Canada has confirmed the presence of the highly pathogenic avian flu in wild birds in the St. John's area, including Bowring Park, Quidi Vidi Lake and other areas frequented by flocks of birds. The public are asked to refrain from feeding, touching or handling wild birds including ducks, pigeons and gulls.

December 23, 2021 - Timed Parking Area signage is being updated in Churchill Square to address parking issues and concerns from businesses and clients, and to encourage vehicle turn over. In early December, Council approved changes to reduce two-hour and four-hour timed parking sections to one-hour and two-hours, respectively. December 23, 2021 - As a result of the province moving to Alert Level 3, capacities at City of St. John’s recreation facilities are reduced. Note that capacities are determined by several factors including size of space, washroom and changeroom space and program requirements.
