Public Art

The City of St. John’s public art policy includes art procurement, commissions of public art, receiving donations of art, and conservation procedures.

Procurement

The City of St. John’s is now accepting submissions to the 2021 Art Procurement Program. Please see the submission form here

The City of St. John's has had an annual Art Procurement Program with a budget of $20,000 for the purposes of acquiring art for the civic art collection. Here are the pieces collected for the 2020 Art Procurement Program.

The City is committed to supporting arts and cultural development in St. John’s and invests annually in developing new public art, hiring local performers, and providing grants to the local arts community.

The arts community contributes to the quality of life for our residents, the enhanced livability of our City, and to the local economy. The City of St. John’s wants to create a city where people feel connected, have a sense of belonging and are actively engaged in community life.
